Project
The Third Street Shops project is located in Jacksonville Beach, Florida on the site of a long vacated ‘Pic-N-Save’ shopping center. The master plan calls for the demolition of the existing building and the design of three new buildings, totaling 78,000-square-feet, to create a pedestrian friendly commercial village. The master plan places the buildings along the edges of the property and the parking field in the interior of the site which creates an urban edge along the street and helps hide the parking. The project is anchored by two large restaurants and a coffee house with the balance of the tenants being comprised of small retail spaces. The design concepts for the new buildings took inspiration from the local beach context and incorporates traditional coastal architectural elements.
