Role

Ervin Lovett & Miller provided Site Planning Services for the Community as well as Architectural design and construction document for the construction of the Boys Home.

Project

The house is located in Clay County, Florida on the banks of the Black Creek and is the first boy’s home to be constructed in the community. Ultimately there will be a total of eight boys homes constructed, all with the same floor plan, but the exterior elevations for each will be modified so that each house has its own character and personality. The two-story, 6,000-square-foot-house is designed in the Florida Farm House vernacular. The house has a deep wrap around porch on the front looking out toward Black Creek as well as a large screened in-porch that connects the main house to the garage and bunkhouse. The house is designed for eight boys, with four bedrooms and four baths, as well as living quarters for the house family and guest quarters above the garage in the “bunkhouse”.
